Welcome to the Speech Department Webpage!  At Regional Day School we work with school children who have communication problems that affect success in classroom activities, social interaction, literacy, and learning.  Good communication skills lead to successful speaking, thinking, reading, writing, and learning.  Areas that we address:

Lauren Kelly

Biography:

Lauren Kelly is a Speech Language Pathologist at Regional Day School in Jackson. Her prior therapy experience includes public school, sub-acute, and early intervention. She received her Master's in Speech Language Pathology from Kean University, and her undergraduate degree from Stockton University. Lauren's therapy philosophy is to equip each student with functional communication, and life skills. To accomplish this, she utilizes a multi-sensory approach to therapy, and encourages students to utilize total communication to express themselves (i.e. verbal, sign, AAC, gestural, or a combination of modalities!).

Haley Lindquist

Biography:

Haley Lindquist joined RDS in the Fall of 2020. Prior to RDS, Haley worked in Trenton Public Schools for two years. Haley also has experience in outpatient speech therapy. Haley received her education at Monmouth University for both undergrad and graduate school.

Biography:

Camilla Cooper is a licensed Speech Language Specialist who graduated from Montclair State University in May 2020 with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Camilla joined the RDS team in September 2022. While the position was originally a temporary maternity leave position, Camilla was fortunate enough to be asked to stay full time. Since then, she has developed a passion in neurodiversity, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and literacy. She believes that all communication is valid communication and that negative behaviors often stem from communication breakdowns. She also advocates for giving students at RDS more time to process input and allowing students to make mistakes!
