As we shared previously, Manchester Township High School's (MTHS) advanced multimedia students created 2D games for this annual contest, and they were incredible! The artistic and construction elements of each game environment -- objects, textures, characters, animations, gameplay effects, environmental effects, music, and sound effects, all have been painstakingly designed, and programmed, of course. Students worked for two months on their submissions to the 2023 GameSalad Video Game Creator Challenge. During this process, students developed the knowledge and skills to creatively design and implement elements of an original gaming product.  They used various multimedia editing tools and GameSalad's interactive multimedia online development software.

Advanced projects include a scope of work that allows students to gain an in-depth understanding of content coupled with skill development (research skills, problem-solving skills, collaborative learning skills, process-oriented skills, skills associated with investigation, technology application skills, etc.). Project topics related to students so they were motivated and engaged in their own learning, pursuing interests, questions and ideas associated with the project. Jurissa even incorporated her pet skunk Buckwheat into her game! Her prizes include a $400 Prize, a GameSalad “I Make Games” T-Shirt and a one year GameSalad Pro membership.  Congratulations Jurissa!
