The Manchester Township High School Football Team is on the move out and about in the community! In addition to being busy practicing for their upcoming season, this week they also practiced their technology skills at Leisure Village West. The senior community invited MTHS students to visit and provide basic Technology 101 support to their residents.
Leisure Village West set aside Willow Hall for a two-hour block with the students. Residents arrived in waves bringing with them their phones, computers, tablets, and technology questions for the Football Team to help them tackle.
MTHS students went table to table as residents asked them their technology questions. Students, coaches, and school district administration assisted seniors with their social media, set up community groups and accounts, familiarized them with their phone settings, learned how to work with Wi-Fi, and so much more.
"It has always been a mission of mine for the young men of the Manchester Township High School Football Team to give back to the local senior community," says Thomas Farrell, Manchester Township High School Head Football Coach. "It was a great opportunity for the team to be invited to help the residents of Leisure Village West with any technology issues they were having. More importantly, it was heartwarming to see our team enjoy the day and get to know the Leisure Village West residents on a personal level."
If you have a community in Manchester and would like our students to visit with your residents, please contact Superintendent Berenato at JBerenato@mtschools.org to coordinate.
