The Manchester PTA is proud and excited to be bringing Bob Salomon to the three Manchester Township elementary schools for a visiting author assembly. Yesterday, Mr. Salomon visited students of Manchester Township Elementary School and was joined by peer leaders, and role models, from the Manchester Township High School Football Team for this assembly.
Bob Salomon and Rick Young, authors of Beyond The Laces, are providing Manchester's students with a multi-discipline, interactive presentation. They touch upon the core values of character building from the key themes of their book, especially kindness and perseverance, tying their messaging in seamlessly with anti-bullying messaging. They also relate their own experiences from the writing process itself while encouraging students to pursue increasing their own writing skills. Students learned that change is only possible when the actions behind the effort are fueled by kindness and respect toward others; impacting one person at a time, especially our children, who are the key to our future.
Thank you to the Manchester PTA for this presentation opportunity. They also provided copies of the book for each of the elementary schools. In addition, the PTA is hosting a “lunch with the author” where 10 students in that school have the opportunity to have a pizza lunch and experience with the author. Those 10 students in each school will also receive a free copy of the book!
Thank you also to the Manchester Township High School Football Team's coaches and players who volunteered their time to visit the elementary schools with the author. Their presence brings the book to life for students as it features a football theme and allows for the players to connect their life experiences to the book for the elementary students. Way to showcase our district motto Excellence by Example in this way!
