October BOE Student Recognitions 2024

OCTOBER BOE MEETING - STUDENT RECOGNITIONS!

Each month, the Board of Education recognizes students from every school at their meeting. This month the Board of Education celebrated the following students and their achievements with the community:

Manchester Township Elementary School

Manchester Township Elementary School’s (MTES) first grader Elijah is a kind and well-mannered young man who is not only hard working in school but also a role model to those around him. During recess, he is always looking out for his friends and other students' safety. He is always willing to take another student to the nurse without hesitation, and most importantly, he shows kindness to everyone he encounters. We are so proud of Elijah and the example he sets to all students at MTES!

Ridgeway Elementary School is celebrating two students this month!

Kindergartener Abigail is always participating in group discussions and activities; she has a wealth of knowledge that drives our discussions outside of the box. Whenever a student needs help with anything, she is eager to assist without being asked. She is an amazing student who has adapted to kindergarten and classroom & school effortlessly!

Edgar is a remarkable fifth-grader who embodies the qualities of a great student and leader. Recently selected as a Safety, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to responsibility. Edgar consistently helps others, earning the respect of his peers and teachers alike, making him a role model in his school. His ability to inspire and support those around him truly sets him apart as a young leader.

MTMS is so proud to recognize Daphne Jones as the Student of the Month. Daphne is a talented, hard-working 7th grader who is a member of the drama club and chorus. Daphne was asked to lend her incredible talents this summer in a concert on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. The concert featured Broadway performers from New York City who have performed in Anastasia, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Aladdin, and more. Daphne’s powerful performance of “Poor, Unfortunate Souls” from The Little Mermaid was well received by a large audience. Also, Daphne recently performed in Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater, NYC, and placed first. Congratulations Daphne!

Manchester Township Middle School – Athletes of the Month

We are extremely proud to have Kaleb Kura and Madison Peck represent Manchester Township Middle School (MTMS) as our student-athletes for the month of October. Kaleb and Madison are both a great representation of what it means to be a student-athlete. They are both 8th-grade leaders of our cross country teams, work just as hard in the classroom as they do in the athletic arena, and serve as excellent examples to our younger students and fellow student-athletes.

Manchester Township High School Athletes of the Month

Senior Emma Edwards has helped lead our team to an 8-5 record, qualifying for the Shore Conference Tournament and an early season upset over #3 Wall Township. With 5 goals and a team-leading 9 assists she is a playmaker who has become the backbone of our team at center midfield.

Senior Goalkeeper Noah Cundiff has been keeping the Hawks in every game on the way to a 7-6 record. He has 90 saves, 8th in the Conference, and has had 4 shutouts on the season. Emma and Noah represent us well on and off the field by modeling a strong academic and athletic work ethic, displaying good sportsmanship, and being solid team players.
