MTMS 7th Grade Science students are participating in a Punkin Chunkin contest in class! 
Students began by watching a video of a large scale competition involving catapults, canons, and trebuchets that launched full size pumpkins up to a mile in distance. Students were then challenged to build their own mini trebuchets that would launch a candy pumpkin the furthest in their classroom.
The 7th graders used the engineering and design process to perfect their machines and then they competed to see whose projectile pumpkin traveled the greatest distance. They did a fabulous job and had a blast building them!
