The MTMS Stem Fair, celebrating women in STEM fields of education, was a GREAT way to lead into International Women's Day! Thanks to Ms. Digneo from the FAA, National Society of Black Engineers, OCC, The Joint Base, Staff/Students, MTEA, Ms. Simister & ALL who supported the event!
The 2024 Women In S.T.E.M. Fair at Manchester Township Middle School was sponsored by the Manchester Teacher Education Association through a Pride Grant. The students were awarded the opportunity to learn from some of the great women in the fields of S.T.E.M and education. They asked questions about their experiences working in the S.T.E.M. fields, their educational experiences, how they chose their career paths, and if they knew what they wanted to be when they were younger. The panel of women included our very own Mrs. Diane Pedroza; Mrs. Nancy Driber; Mia Caruso (MTHS ROTC); Ocean County Colleges' first woman College President, Dr. Pamela Monaco; Engineering Professor, Pam Bogdan; Dr. Vandana, Saini Mathematics Chair at OCC; Riedolia Moore-Ellis, Region 1 NSBE Professional TeleComm Chair; Kristina Jones, Mechanical Engineer System Standardization & PHS&T NAWCAD Lakehurst; and Angelica DeJesus & Nicalea Naida, School Liaison Specialist, Child and Youth Services Flight from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
