Valentine's Day is always extra sweet at Regional Day School (RDS)! It is the day that students and staff compete in the annual Regional Day School Cupcake Wars competition! Each classroom pod works with its teachers to brainstorm, bake, decorate, and serve unique cupcake creations. This year's competition was as creative, and delicious, as always!
For this competition, A-Pod focused on how much they love their school with a "Hooked on RDS" cupcake creation. The cupcakes that they baked were chocolate or vanilla funfetti-based with chunks of chocolate or vanilla inside. They coordinated the icing to align with their design and topped each dessert with candies that completed their theme. As they walked through to look at each design, there were a lot of smiles and cheers from students who are indeed "hooked on" Regional Day School!
Turning cupcakes into different foods is the way B-Pod likes to share their creativity and this year was no different. In 2024, B-Pod won the MOST CREATIVE CUPCAKE category with their "Pizza" My Heart" creation, and this year's theme, "B-Pod is Sweet as Pie", was just as well received. Not only did these cupcakes look like a pie, but they featured cherry pie filling, apple pie filling, and blueberries from their cafeteria!
C-Pod did an incredible job of incorporating what they are learning during Black History Month into their competition entry. Their display featured cupcakes with quotes and photos along with a display background with historical facts to share. Their cupcakes were not only delicious but full of important history facts on display. Way to go C-Pod!
Students, staff, and guest judges walked through the cupcake display to first judge the classroom pod's designs. Then everyone tasted each cupcake before casting their vote for the 2025 Regional Day School Cupcake War Winners!
Although every cupcake creation was a clear winner, the following were the category winners of the 2025 Regional Day School Cupcake Wars:
