Each month, the Board of Education recognizes students from each school at their meeting. This month the Board of Education celebrated the following students and their achievements with the community:
Ridgeway Elementary School:
Throughout the month of October, Ridgeway Elementary School is conducting a sock drive to provide socks to adults and children in need. Broden Houman and his family have taken the sock drive to a new level. Broden has donated hundreds of pairs of socks and has shown how a small act of love can make a very big difference. We are so thankful for all of your hard work Broden!
Manchester Township Elementary School:
MTES students from grades four and five assisted Mrs. Healy in helping fellow MTES students vote for their favorite drink to be featured at MTES Barnes and Noble Night on October 19. The Ocean County Board of Elections allows us to borrow the voting booths each year so students can experience voting in an authentic voting booth. Lillie Werner and Miguel Alfaro along with 23 of their peers escorted classes to the voting booths, helped them vote, and ran the polls. Their assistance made for a smooth and exciting experience for all. We can’t wait to see which Dragon Drink will be featured!
Whiting Elementary School:
The students in our school were asked to think of words for our new motto this year. It is an acronym for them to remember for encouragement in making great choices and being a good citizen. The classes submitted their entries and the staff voted. They all did an outstanding job, but Mr. Kelly’s room was selected for this year. We are the WHITING WONDERS!
Regional Day School:
Jacob Beckley has been part of the Regional Day community since he was three years old. He has grown physically and emotionally. Jacob has demonstrated to the school community that he has learned to be a cooperative worker, a good listener, a practicing communicator, and a good friend. Jacob has gone from an impulsive three year old, to a contemplative observer of his environment. Although faced with many challenges in his young life, he has adapted to changes, developed trust and understanding and is now a productive member of the school community. Jacob is so deserving of this honor! Everyone is so proud of Jacob
Manchester Township Middle School:
MTMS would like to recognize Amelia Lamberti for her achievements as a middle school student. As an eighth grader, Amelia is a true leader among her peers. She is always willing to help and guide her classmates and has made significant growth since coming to middle school in sixth grade. Our class runs Mustang Joe's, a school wide coffee cart, and Amelia is a leader while making "102 Made" treats in class to sell on the coffee cart. She is also a "top employee" while working our coffee cart. She always makes others smile and we are so proud of her!
We are extremely proud to have Cole Sarama and Jesse Sarana represent MTMS as our Student/Athletes for the month of October. Cole and Jesse are both a great representation of what it means to be a student athlete. They are both 8th grade leaders on our soccer teams, who work just as hard in the classroom as they do in the athletic arena and serve as an excellent example to our younger student/athletes.
Manchester Township High School:
